About

Queens-raised. Studio-built. Genre-agnostic.

Bridget Perez is a singer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, producer and engineer from Queens, New York. Rolling Stone called her voice “heaven tilted.” Her collaborators call her when a record needs more than one kind of musician.

The story

One musician, every seat in the studio

Some producers came up on gear, some singers came up on stages. Bridget came up on all of it at once — piano first, then voice, then production and engineering — and built a career refusing to pick a lane.

That range shows up in the credits. She sang and co-wrote the hook on Denzel Curry's “Angelz” and stacked background vocals across his Melt My Eyez See Your Futurerecords alongside Robert Glasper. She co-produced Orion Sun's COLORS performance of “dirty dancer” and Amaria's “Running Away.” She's played piano live for Kodak Black, Cash Cobain and Don Q, produced records for independent artists, and picked up a Best Composer nomination for a short-film score.

As an artist she releases her own music — press from Afropunk to The Source to Vibe has covered her work — and that artist's perspective is the point. When she produces, writes or sings on your record, she treats it the way she treats her own: no templates, no preset chains, just what the song is asking for.

“Heaven tilted.”

Philosophy

Built around the record

A violet-lit still from Bridget Perez's visual work

Bridget's rule for every session is simple: the record decides. If the song needs a producer, she produces. If it needs one harmony stack that makes the hook bloom, she sings exactly that and gets out of the way. If it needs real piano instead of a preset, she plays it.

Clients keep her number because she works warm and honest — she'll tell you what the song needs to hear, not what you need to hear
